Connect with Marcel during Milan Design Week!
During this year's Salone Internazionale del Mobile, both at the fair and in the city, magic will happen. New furniture designs, lighting and art pieces will both provoke imagination and trigger thoughts of limitless beauty.
With a dazzling twist, chairs re-interpret part intentions, lamps perform lively dances, and art invades both hearts and minds.
Marcel invites you to an astonishing edition of Salone del Mobile, where his belief that designers "are poets, secretly dressed as engineers" is truly laid on the table.
Discover Marcel Wanders for Moooi
Amongst this year's highlights for Moooi is Marcel's Zio collection. Alluring contrasts between fluid organic shapes, straight cuts and adorned woven textiles, define this family of chairs, footstools, tables, coffee tables and buffet.
Equally iconic are the low lounger ‘Cocktail chair’, patterned in the woven heritage of the Netherlands; the cozy ‘Love’ sofas, with its rounded forms and available in a premium synthetic white ‘Plush’ version; and the ‘Nest’ chair, where linear, clear metal structures lift the plumpest and softest cushions from the floor, creating a comfy, elevated nest for one or more people.
The ‘Bassotti’ coffee table and cabinet family is the perfect modular system for mixing and matching in grand style. The collection includes a wide range of small, big, tall, wide, round, rectangular tables and differently shaped wooden sideboards. And what is a well dressed house without light? The ‘Inkborn’ table lamp combines technical ingenuity and classic charm.
Timeless modernity is reflected in every item in this year's collection.
Marcel's experiments for Barovier&Toso
Located in the cloisters of basilica of San Simpliciano, ‘Light e-motion’ is an exhibition by Marcel Wanders for Barovier&Toso.
Produced in Murano glass, atomised chandeliers are recomposed in new guises; a dazzling remix that challenges the laws of physics and mechanics in a swirl of perpetual movement. With wit and emotion, lightness and wonder, 'Light e-motion' is a dramatic installation in which Marcel's design principles can be recognized; his interest in material experimentation, in form subversion and in the contrast between industry and craft.
'Untold' exhibition at Museo Bagatti Valsecchi
At Museo Bagatti Valsecchi ‘Untold’, a group exhibition curated by Rossana Orlandi in collaboration with Vionnet and Audemars Piguet, presents Marcel's delft-blue porcelain piece ‘Fragile Fingers on a Grand Piano’ (2013). Designed for the hands and arms of world-renown Dutch pianist Iris Hond, ‘Fragile Fingers on a Grand Piano’ carries Wanders personal design signatures of play, poetry and fantasy.

Tokyo Designers Week returns to Milan
Organised by Tokyo Designers Week, ‘Ito Jakuchu Inspired’ shows one of Marcel Wanders ‘Connected Polarity’ works, while ‘Oh! Furoshiki’ exhibits a unique textile work by Marcel which comments on the ancient art of Japanese cloth wrapping and interprets it for a new generation.
At Salone, Cyborg reigns supreme at Magis, where two new styles will be introduced, the regal and masculine ‘Lord Cyborg’ and his partner, the elegant ‘Lady Cyborg’. ‘Troy’ also makes an appearance in a new wardrobe of Kvadrat and Innofa textiles and in sparkling metal, dashing leather and warming wood.
The ‘Blue Puff Flower’, the latest sculptural seat to pop, premieres Marcel's collaboration with Gufram.
Also born to a new collaboration with Very Wood, ‘The Century Chair’, a singular, atemporal creation, displays influence from four centuries, unified with a Marcel Wanders twist, and the ‘Loop Chair’ with a back of air drawn arches celebrates the relationship between Gervasoni and the just recently founded Very Wood.
Gleaming and haptic, minimal and classic ‘Dolce Vita’ for Olivari originates a new relationship between two seemingly antithetical languages, striking for its wonderful polarity.
